Good, but mastering issues are present.

Perhaps you put a longer attack time on the string synths at the beginning, but it certainly seems to me that the bass drum at the beginning overpowers the rest of the instruments. The rest of the song is definatley nothing I've ever heard from dubstep on youtube. The progessions you use on the rhythm is good, and it fits the title very well.

The piano during the main part I can tell is the melody, and it's a good melody, but it's too quiet, and the rest of the instruments are overpowering it, especially the drums closer to the end.

KroweMusic responds:

Yeah, I tend to have trouble with mastering. It really subtracts from the overall fell of my music, which reallllllllllly sucks.

I try to move away from the norm of genres and make my own style, which is why this doesn't sound like typical dubstep. This song is more like a classical-trance-dubstep hybrid.

Also, I'll agree that the piano needs to be brought out more.

Thanks for reviewing!

Very relaxing,

Very relaxing, but some slight adjustments to the instruments might make it better.

This is extremely relaxing, this would be something that I could sleep to at night. The arpeggios you use at the beggining and the end parts, are nice, but they do get a slight bit repetitive. Although you do switch it up just before it gets overly repetitive. The melody is very nice, it's very calming, but it can also seem to be very sad. Having the drums the way they do in the backround has a good effect in the way you're probably trying to accomplish, and the parts where the drums are loud are good. But I do feel that the drums should have more places where they are louder. But that might mean having to make the song longer too.

When it comes to the instruments, the choices you use for the main rhythm and melody are pretty good. I can't really say much more because I can't think of anything more to say. I would say turn up the drums a bit more at more parts, but that's about it.

GronmonSE responds:

Yeah, I turned up the volume on some parts and lowered it on others to get a particular effect, but I see what you mean.

Thanks for the review, sir!

...Brutal

Not the good type either. This just didn't work.
Work on your quality, maybe even perhaps your playing, and you'll get somewhere.
Some suggestions: Use Reaper DAW, get a TASCAM USB interface, EZDrummer, Guitar Rig 4 and Voxengo Boogex. That should get you set up.
But seriously, try next time...

DeathMetalGod responds:

Thanks for the review and suggestions.

Great work!

I listened to the backing track seperately and felt it wasn't my type of metal. But nonetheless good!
Regarding the mixing, Zhuriel's solo was too loud and cowdog's to just right. I couldn't hear the backing track over Zhuriel's shredding.
Now to review the solos:
Zhuriel
I personally felt that it needed more than picking a single note and changing it every little bit. That being said, it was still decent and went along with the song. The beginning part was excellent though, and the effects were good.
Cowdog2
I really like the melodicness of this one, although there were off notes and sometimes misplaced notes (if you know what i mean) You show excellent control of the fretboard, and i like that!
My vote goes to cowdog2

thecoreman responds:

Thanks for voting and supporting dude. Appreciated, and counted for the final vote.

Good for game over

Simple composition, but good mix.
And it does give the feel of "OH SHIT YOU'RE DEAD, WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO NOW?!?!"
Oh and I like your guitar tone!

SBB Said it all

So i'm going to go with his review, give you a 9, say it was really fucking sweet, and also give you a 5/5 and fave it.

Step responds:

Haha thanks. Actually I'm thinking of continuing it, would you mind if you record the guitars for me instead of me using a VST? :P.

Well anyway, thanks for the review!

Yeah I can see it... I mean hear it

Kinda reminds me of a song taken from an F-Zero game
Definately suits all three genres you mentioned (General Rock included)
Not my kind of metal-ishness, but still good and enjoyable!
Just one thing, turn up your percussion.

Fajita responds:

turn up your subs. you'll hear the percussion. but anywho, thanks for the review. be sure to check out my other songs and give me some feedback on them too!!

Brrr it's cold

Seriously, I'm getting chills listening to this song and it's gotta be about 30 degrees outside. Excellent representation of antarctica
That is all

Kirbyfemur responds:

Hehe, thanks! I'm Sort of surprised at how well this has been received so far. =3

Pretty good...

I haven't listened to the Ninja Gaiden 2 theme before, but I feel that this song is seriously missing percussion. If you were to add more percussion, it would make this song a hell of alot better!
But still, good job, I really like the use of panning from :55 to the end

4/5 (+.17)

treyhaur responds:

Some percussion would be great, only problem is I lost this project files in a crash. I've gotten really good feedback on this and the other NES stuff I did, so I've decided to go back and redo this one for sure. Stay tuned and thanks for the review!

Wait a minute....

Where's the lyrics?
When I first listened to this, I only listened to around 15 seconds then left... But now that I'm hearing the full song, I have to say that I don't know why I didn't listen to all of it the first time, because this song could literally kick any 0-bomber's ass from there to etheopia!
1 thing, I don't hear alot of bass guitar... Perhaps turn it up by 1-2 dB and that would make the song much juicier.
Other than that, I really really like it!
Fav'd
5/5 (4.21 [+.029])
10/10
Also I really like the backwards guitar at the end

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks dude, glad you dig it. The bass guitar is quite loud in this. Plus the little bass breakdown, but it just gets chalked up as personal preference I suppose. I may still add the lyrics, for anyone who wants to sing a long. haha. :_)
Thanks again, for the review and vote, dude!

If you enjoy my music, fave me and check out my other sites!
